Alfred Rosenberg established the Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg (ERR), a Nazi organization charged with confiscating Jewish-owned cultural assets and religious objects in the western Nazi-occupied territories. Its mandate extended into the occupied Eastern territories. Hermann Göring supported its work and coordinated his policy of plunder with those of the ERR.
