In 1941 it was purchased by Raymond Nacenta who operated it till 1961. The gallery's archives are housed at the Centre Pompidou/Kandinsky Library.

After the war, restituted Schloss paintings were sold in three consecutive sales at Charpentier (1949, 1951, and 1954).
